Counting Fun!

Let's face it learning how to count is not always the most funniest thing to do with your kids. I mean you can count beads, building blocks, fingers, and toes but after awhile that can get kind of old. However singing a counting song can be something you can do with your kids in the car, while cooking dinner, at the gas pump, etc. I am sure you get my point by now. Now you can go to one of these fancy book stores and buy a CD or get a book of counting songs or you can go to my favorite website YOUTUBE! Yes YouTube, you can find great and FREE counting songs that your child would love. If you are a teacher these songs are great for the morning circle time or any other time during the day. :) So rather you are counting 1-10 or 1-100 have fun singing with your kids. I promise they will learn their numbers faster singing then counting their toes! :)
 Below I listed two of my favorite counting rap songs for kids;

Kids Rap Counting Song (teaches them how to spell the words as while as counting numbers 1-10)

Back to School!

It's that time of the year where school begins and fun outdoor summer activities start to end. But why does the fun have to stop? I have some fun educational ideas that you can do with preschool age children. If you home school children or a nanny, I am going to make your rainy days sunny inside. Trust me I understand what it feels like to try to find new and exciting things to do with your children or the kids you are watching. As well as difficult it can be coming up with new things to do year after year. I know these days we all are on a budget and our "money tree" hasn't done so well this season ;) no worries most if not all of these activities does not cost much or even FREE to do at home. Great right?!? So where are all these great ideas? They are coming in the following post soon.....I promise :).

'You Can Be Whatever You Want To Be'

I love poetry and thought an inspiration or motivating poem would make a good first post on my new blog. This blog will be a resource for people who are new to homeschooling, teachers (pre-k and kindergarten), and parents of young children.
More blog posts coming soon!

You Can Be Whatever You Want To Be
by: Donna Levine

There is inside you
All of the potential
To be whatever you want to be;
All of the energy
To do whatever you want to
do.
Imagine yourself as you would like to be,
Doing what you want to do,

And each day, take one step
Towards your dream.
And though at times
it may seem too
difficult to continue,
Hold on to your dream.
One morning you will awake to find
That you are the person you dreamed of,

Doing what you wanted to do,
Simply because you had the courage
To believe in your potential
And to hold on to your dream.
